Our charitable tinnitus support service is run entirely by volunteers.

On first contact with our group many people describe feeling a tremendous sense of relief that they can speak to someone who will help them with managing the condition.

As well as providing advice and information about tinnitus, we are here to listen. Talking to someone about any anxieties you may have about tinnitus and any distress it may cause, can be therapeutic in itself.

We offer:

  • One-to-one lay counselling support from a group member who experiences tinnitus
  • Information booklets about managing tinnitus
  • Group meetings/peer support/social meetings
  • For anyone aged over 55 with hearing difficulties, we can help complete a self-referral to audiology

We have a good relationship with Chesterfield Royal Hospital Audiology and can ask them for additional support and advice.

Patient Pathway

It is important to get a proper diagnosis so seek advice from your GP. As a result of NICE Guidance for Tinnitus Patients, there is an appropriate patient pathway that GPs should follow. Depending on the diagnosis, this may be a referral to ENT and/or to Audiology for further assessment.
